Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to seek formal requests for proposals (RFP) for a Jail Security System/equipment for the Webb County Jail and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-4070-001-470000 (Capital Outlay)]

Issue: The Webb County Jail is in need of upgrading the old security system due to age degradation and lack of adequate support resources. Security systems are a necessary and critical solution for correctional facilities. An advanced video surveillance system is a necessity that enables correctional facilities to stay safe and secure.

Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit RFP as per the Texas Local Government Code.

Results: Secure formal proposals for Commissioners Court to consider award based on best value as per State law.
