Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of Three (3) 2023 Autocar ACX64 Epeditor with Amrep Automated Side Load Refuse Trucks from Chastang Enterprises, Inc. (Buy-Board Contract No. 601-19) for an amount not to exceed $936,293.00 to include a five (5) year Cummins Engine, After-treatment and Transmission Warranty pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code; Sections 271.101, 271.102, Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Programs; and further authorizing Estrada Hinojosa & Co., financial advisers for Webb County, to pursue funding options for said purchase. Purchase will be contingent upon the approval of financing by Commissioners Court and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #2007-7160-001-470000 (Capital Outlay)]

Issue: Currently the County has 2016 models that have had reoccurring mechanical programs putting a strain on the operations for refuse collection. Road and Bridge Director is recommending that the units be replaced.

Solution: Seek financing options from our Financial Consultant that would secure the best interest rate and payment terms to fund the purchase of these units being proposed.

Result: If approved, the refuse trucks will be ordered once the financing is secured and funding is transferred to the Road and Bridge capital outlay accounts.
