Discussion with possible action to authorize the submission of a grant application as developed, written, and submitted by and for the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program to the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division Specialty Courts Grant Program, FY2023 in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any kind of match; and will have no impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: To expand the Webb County Adult Drug Court program in capacity and treatment services to 40 new clients. Additional services include Drug testing, monitoring services, co-occurring substance abuse and family services and case management that are all essential and contribute to the rehabilitation of each client.

Solution: If awarded, Drug Court will expand its current capacity and services to individuals who meet eligible criteria.

Result: Webb County Drug Court Program will remain in compliance with SPOC and with the submission of rules and regulations set forth by the funding agency.

This grant is being offered by the Texas Office of the Governor, via the Criminal Justice Division Grant.
