Discussion and possible action to approve a Contribution in Aid of Construction Agreement for Electrical Distribution Service with AEP in the amount of $20,185.76 for the installation and construction of electrical distribution to connect both water wells to electricity for Texas Department of Agriculture TXCDBG Mirando Water Well Phase II Project No. 7219095 and further authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: We are required to meet the 35 GPM TCEQ requirement. The first water well solely did not meet the 35 GMP requirement, therefore a second water well was needed. Additional electrical appurtenances were then required, as per the project engineer and AEP recommendations. Additional funds are needed to meet electrical power installations.

Solution: Approve agreement with AEP to install and construct electrical distributions.

Result: Newly constructed water wells will be able to operate.

Background:

Grant funds were approved by the Texas Department of Agriculture - Colonia Fund Construction Program for water system improvements in Mirando City. The Mirando City Water Supply Corporation will operate and maintain these improvements – TDA 7219095.

Previous Court Action:

On January 24, 2022, Commissioner’s Court approved change order No. 3 to decrease the contract amount by $6,300.00 due to items not needed and to grant a time extension for the date of January 3, 2022 to the contract with RG Enterprises, LLC, for the Texas Department of Agriculture TXCDBG Mirando Water Well Phase 1 Project No. 7219095.
