Discussion and possible action to award Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 2022-001 “Webb County Jail Kitchen Cooler and Freezer Upgrades" to the lowest and responsible bidder Temprite Mechanical Inc., in an amount not to exceed $149,138.50 in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code, Sub Chapter C. (Competitive Bidding in General), Section 262.021 (County Purchasing Act) and to further authorize the transfer of $102,366.00 from the General Operation Reserve Account – 1001-1130-001-431007-010 to the Sheriff’s Jail Capital Outlay Account – 1001-4070-001-470000 and any other matters incident thereto [1001-4070-001-470000 (Jail Capital Outlay), 1001-1130-001-431007-025 (Operational Reserve Contingency)].

Issue: Invitation to Bid closed March 3/17/2021 at 10 p.m. 2 bids were submitted by deadline.

Solution: Award to Temprite Mechanical Inc., the lowest and responsible bidder and transfer funds from reserve and code remaining balance to the operational contingency account.

Result: Proceed with Notice of Award and execution of contract between Webb County and Temprite Mechanical Inc.

On August 09, 2021, item no. 32, Commissioners Court authorized the Purchasing Agent to seek competitive pricing in accordance with the Webb County Purchasing Policies and State procurement rules.
