Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal Request for Proposals for Employee Benefit Ancillary Products listed below in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Section 262.030 (Alternative Competitive Proposal Procedure for Certain Goods and Services) and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Risk Management is recommending that Webb County seek out competitive proposals for ancillary products to benefit the Employees of Webb County in order to secure more competitive rates and improved services.

Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal requests for proposals with the assistance from Risk Management and Webb County’s Insurance Consultant, HUB International Services to development scope of work.

Result: Authorization will allow the process of formal solicitation of these services as recommended by our Risk Management Department and Insurance Consultant.
