Discussion and possible action to adopt the county budget for fiscal year 2022-2023 pursuant to Chapter 111 of the Texas Local Government Code. The Court may make any modifications to the proposed budget that it considers warranted by law and required by the interest of the taxpayers by majority vote.

18. (A) Discussion and possible action to itemize and set fees by Order as part of the FY 22-23 budget preparation process for the county’s floodplain management program including but not limited to determinations, development permits, certifications and inspections as prescribed by the provisions of Section 16.324, Texas Water Code. Staff recommends keeping the same fee schedule approved with the FY 21-22 budget.

Background:

Pursuant to Section 16.324, Texas Water Code, the adoption of fees associated with floodplain management by counties must be itemized and set as par tof the budget preparation process of the Commissioners Court.

The Planning department staff recommends that the same fee schedule be extended into FY 17-18 budget. A draft of the proposed Order showing the recommended fee schedule is attached hereto.

Previous Court Action:

Since the original enactment of these provisions (September 1, 2001), each fiscal year the Webb County Commissioners Court has adopted its fee schedules for floodplain management as presented during the Court's budget hearings and/or workshops.
