Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Commissioners Court to rescind and lift the prior July 25, 2022 outdoor fire/Burn Ban Order prohibiting all outdoor burning in all the unincorporated areas of Webb County commencing September 26, 2022 pursuant to Local Government Code §352.081; authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign any and all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by Felix Nunez, Webb County Fire Marshal]

Issue: The recent heavy rains that fell throughout Webb County during the past 3 weeks have greatly reduced the current Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) average for Webb County and the plentiful rain totals in Webb County has alleviated this past summers extremely dry conditions) these heavy rains have greatly improved conditions for farmers and ranchers in the field all over Webb County, thereby significantly reducing the risk of wildfires and/or danger to damage to the life and property of our citizens.

Solution: Order an immediate lift and rescind the prior 90 days burn ban previously approved by the Court on July 25, 2022.

Result: Due to the recent heavy rains received in Webb County over the past several weeks Webb County Citizens will no longer be banned from outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Webb County.
