Discussion and possible to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit Statement of Qualifications from Architectural firms for the design, preparation of construction documents and construction administration of a Public Health Center in Southern Webb County to provide health services to low and moderate income residents of Rio Bravo, El Cenizo, and La Presa communities in accordance with the Texas Government Code; Professional Services Procurement Act and any other matters incident thereto. [TDHCA Community Resiliency Grant Fund]

Issue: Architectural services are required to proceed with the programming of a new Public Health Facility to be located in Southern Webb County to benefit low income areas. The proposed center will be approximately 9,600 square feet and shall have but not limited to; office and exam rooms, lab areas, a conference room and a corresponding parking area.

Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise for Statement of Qualifications for Architectural Services.

Result: Initiate the procurement process to seek professional services for the design of a new Public Health Center for Southern Webb County. The center will be facilitated and operated by the Webb County Health Department, who will be responsible for providing medical and health services to the residents of the areas listed above.
