Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program Application in the amount up to $300,000.00 and authorization of the County Judge to act as the County’s Executive Office and Authorized Representative in all matters pertaining to the County’s participation in the application. This grant application requires 10% cash match. [Requested by Chief Rick Rangel, Fire Department]

Issue: Webb County Volunteer Fire Department has identified the need of reliable firefighting apparatus to properly respond to emergency incidents.

Solution: Submission of FY 2022 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program) Application to benefit the Webb County Volunteer Fire Department through the acquisition of personal protective equipment for firefighters.

Result: If awarded, the funding will provide well-equipped firefighters to respond safely to emergency incidents.
