Discussion and possible action to issue a letter of support in accordance with 25 TAC 157.11 to Acute Specialty Transport with notice to the Costal Bend Regional Advisor Counsel that Acute Special Transport is approved to operate in Webb County, Texas.

Issue: Additional EMS providers would benefit the constituents of Webb County by offering more services.

Solution: Issue a Letter of Support and Approve Acute Specialty Transport to operate in Webb County, Texas.

Result: Will have additional EMS services provided for Webb County.

Background:

The addition of another licensed EMS provider will not interfere with nor adversely affect EMS providers already operating in the county;
The addition of another licensed EMS provider will remedy an existing provider shortage in the event of an emergency that cannot be resolved solely through the use of the licensed EMS providers operating in the county; and
The addition of another licensed EMS provider will not cause an oversupply of licensed EMS providers in the county; and
This emergency services provided will aid and assist the Webb County and would include a state activation of emergency services or provide services in circumstances where all current local EMS responders have already been tasked to other emergencies.
