Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to contract with CAP Fleet (Buy-Board #698-23) to order remaining law enforcement equipment for leased units replacing County owned units exceeding the required criteria as previously approved by Commissioners Court in an amount not to exceed the Contingency Budgets allocated for this purpose and in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; §271.101 & §271.102 (Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program) and any other matters incident thereto.
 
Issue: Commissioners Court approved the replacement of all police units exceeding 90,000 miles and/or ten (10) years or older.  The current outfitter has shut down operations effective March 31, 2023, and a new vendor is needed to continue with the outfitting of all previously approved vehicles for replacement through the leasing program.  
 
Solution: Authorize the use of a CAP Fleet, an experienced outfitter that has performed these services for multiple Counties and Cities across the State of Texas.  Vendor has a multiple cooperative contracts and their service stations are located in both Belton and Houston, Texas.   
 
Result: Order the required police equipment in anticipation of leased vehicles being delivered to outfitter and current ones in place.
