Acceptance of FY 2023 Regional Solid Waste Grant

Discussion and possible action to accept the Fiscal Year 2023 Regional Solid Waste Grants award and enter into an agreement -Contract No. 23-19-02, with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) South Texas Development Council in the amount of Sixty-Nine Thousand Two Hundred Seventy-Four Dollars ($69,274.00) in grant funds and; authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign all pertinent contract documentation. The contract implementation schedule is projected to run from April 1, 2023 until July 31, 2023.

Issue: Webb County has identified a need for litter and illegal dumping clean-up and Community Collection Events.

Solution: To carry out activities that address littering and illegal dumping, clean up and community election events.

Result: In cooperation with Community Action Agency and Road & Bridge will carry out a minimum of 5 clean up events, specifically geared towards tire collection and disposal.

Background:

The goal is to carry out activities that address littering and illegal dumping by having clean up and community collection events.
