Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise an Invitation to Bid for the purchase of thermal infrared cameras to provide surveillance for border security operations throughout Webb County in accordance with the Texas County Purchasing Act and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #2475-3010-001-470000 (Sheriff - Operation Lone Star -Sheriff Patrol-Administration-Capital Outlay)]

Issue: Cameras are needed for grant-funded border security operations.

Solution: Authorize the advertisement for formal bids, total projected cost is estimated to exceed $50,000.00. Purchase of law enforcement cameras is funded by Operation Lone Star Grant.

Result: Upon approval the Purchasing Agent will initiate the formal advertisement for bids and return to Commissioners Court with a recommendation on award.
