Discussion and possible action to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between Webb County (for the benefit of the Webb County Attorney's Office) and Local HIDTA Task Force agreement with United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration for the period of one year (June 01, 2022 to September 30, 2023 being FY 2023) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any matters incident thereof.

Issue: Collaboration between Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies is necessary to combat criminal organizations.

Solution: Through the collaboration of the multi-agency operation of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the task force can continue to supplement other state and local law enforcement agencies to conduct international drug investigations, covert surveillance operations and dismantle drug trafficking organizations.

Result: Disruption of organized criminal activity in Webb County.

Background:

The Webb County Attorney's Office would liek to expand the federal government partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration HIDTA Task Force.
