Discussion and possible action to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Texas A&M International for an internship program to promote quality public administration education and training for Criminal Justice and Sociology majors for the term beginning August 1, 2023 and ending May 31, 2024 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. No Impact to the General Fund. [Requested by Webb County Risk Management Department]

Issue: Webb County provides law enforcement and various social services to county residents by which student interns will be afforded the opportunity for meaningful work experience with the county which may prepare them for positions in the fields fo their selected program of study.

Result: Texas A&M International intern will gain meaningful work experience in their field of study.

Solution: At no financial cost, Webb County will provide Texas A&M International interns with meaningful county administrative work experience.

Background:

This Agreement will allow Webb County to provide students enrolled at Texas A&M International University and majoring in law enforcement and sociology will gain meaningful work experience in their field of study.
