Discussion and possible action to authorize the County Judge to submit a letter to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) authorizing CoreCivic to negotiate an Intergovernmental Service Agreement (IGSA) with ICE for provision of detention and transportation services by CoreCivic at the Laredo Processing Center (ICE RFP of July 20, 2023), subject to final County approval, and any matters incident thereto. [Requested by Martin Cuellar, County Sheriff; No effect on the County budget]

Background:

This IGSA would operate as a renewal of the current agreement which will soon expire.
