Discussion and possible action to approve the acceptance of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) Grant Award #1H79TI085855-01 (Program Announcement 93.243, Funding Opportunity No. TI-23-007) Grants to Expand Substance Use Disorder Treatment Capacity in Adult and Family Treatment Drug Court, in the amount of FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($400,000) per year for a 5-year grant cycle beginning September 30, 2023, for the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program, and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. The acceptance of the grant does not require any kind of match; therefore, there is no impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: Webb County Adult Drug Court SAMHSA Grant Application was selected for funding, a Notice of Award was received on 09/08/2023.

Solution: Acceptance of the SAMHSA Webb County Adult Drug Court Program Grant requires Commissioner's Court approval.

Result: if Accepted, the Webb County Adult Drug Court Program will expand substance use disorder treatment and recovery support services to all eligible individuals in Webb County.
