Discussion and possible action authorizing the Human Resources department to review and finalize the job qualification and description criteria for the Community Action Agency (CAA) director position; with additional action to advertise and solicit applications from qualified candidates; and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: At the September 18, 2023 Commissioner’s Court meeting, the Commissioners Court approved the separation of the Community Action Agency (CAA) and Economic Development departments, effective October 1, 2023. A new CAA director needs to be hired. Solution: Request to have the Human Resources department initiate the hiring process by finalizing the CAA director job qualifications and description criteria, advertise and solicit applications for qualified candidates. Result: Hire the best suited candidate for the CAA director position.
