Subject:

Discussion and possible action to approve an Agreement with the Department of Defense (DOD) to allow the Webb County Constable Pct. 1 Department to apply for and accept surplus property from the Law Enforcement Support Office (LESO) Program, deemed excess by the Secretary of Defense, from the Department of Defense (“DOD”) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. There is no impact to the General fund.

Issue: The Secretary of Defense is authorized by 10 USC §2576a to transfer to State Law Enforcement Agencies surplus personal property that is suitable for use by law enforcement agencies.

Solution: Approval to apply for the LESO Program to receive surplus property.

Result: Surplus property will be obtained at no cost to Webb County.
