Issue:
Texas (Trafficking) Emergency Network Diversion (TEND) Court Program requires funding to provide services to the public and enter into agreements with individuals and entities who provide treatment and counseling of victims of trafficking.
Solution:
The Texas (Trafficking) Emergency Network Diversion (TEND) Court Program is an Office of the Governs (OOG) grant, and will pay for services.
Result:
The grant will fund the services needed to provide mental/therapy services for the TEND youth according to this contract.
Background:
The TEND program aims to identify minors in CPS foster care, who may be current victims or at risk of being victims sexually trafficked or exploited and to steer youth away from that way of life. The TEND program will provide various modes of therapy through community service providers and preventive educational sessions as a means of intervention and redirection.
