Discussion and possible action to approve grant award contract #58240004040 (“Contract”) for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for FY-2023, in the amount of ONE MILLION, TWO HUNDRED SEVENTEEN THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS ($1,217,627.00) and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. The contract shall commence on January 01, 2024, and shall end on December 31, 2024. This action will not have an impact on the General Fund.

Issue: The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) has awarded Webb County Community Action Agency the amount of $1,217,627.00 under the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP).

Solution: The Court approval will allow the Webb County CAA to provide direct services to eligible low-income residents of Webb County under the CEAP Program.

Result: These funds are intended to assist eligible Webb County residents with up to 12 months of energy consumption.
