Discussion and possible action to ratify the approval to purchase three (3) InBody 770 Body Composition Analyzers with an extended three (3) year warranty from Biospace Inc., DBA InBody (GSA Contract #36F79722D0074) for an amount not to exceed $53,634.27 for the Webb County Risk Department pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code; Sections 271.101, 271.102, Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Programs and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #6100-1090-001-462000 (Risk – Wellness Clinic Employee Expenditures)]

Issue: The Risk Department requested to purchase three (3) InBody 770 Body Composition analyzers for the benefit of Webb County Employees. The purchase of the equipment required for the grant funds to be expensed by 12/31/2023.

Solution: Due to the grant deadline, the Purchasing Agent approved the order using Aetna Wellness Allowance funds. Although vendor has a cooperative contract, it has always been the Purchasing Agent’s practice to bring all purchases under a cooperative contract exceeding $50,000.00 to Commissioners Court for approval.

Result: Secure approval on ratification of grant purchase that was necessary in order to meet the grant deadline utilizing the wellness allowance balance from Aetna.
