Discussion with possible action to authorize the submission of FY 2024 Grants to Expand Substance Use Disorder Treatment Capacity in Adult and Family Treatment Drug Courts as developed, written, and submitted by and for the Webb County Adult Specialty Courts in an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant does not require any match; therefore, there is no impact on the general fund. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC). Issue: SAMHSA released solicitations for the FY 2024 Grants to Expand Treatment Capacity in Adult and Family Treatment Courts. This solicitation will augment the current Family Services to the Adult Specialty Court to include additional eligibility to qualifying candidates of Webb County and surrounding areas.

Solution: Authorize the submission of the multi-year grant application for the purpose of expanding family treatment services to the Adult Specialty Courts, drug court participants.

Result: If awarded, the substance-use disorder and mental health treatment and recovery support services will expand to qualifying participants of the Specialty Courts Program, Adult Drug Court Family Treatment component.
