Discussion and possible action to approve a Resolution and Order of the Commissioners Court to authorize the county to enter into an Advance Funding Agreement with the State of Texas, through TXDOT, for sidewalk improvements in the City of Rio Bravo of approximately four thousand four hundred eighty-five (4,485) linear feet from Salvador Garcia Middle School (Peña Drive) to the Rio Bravo Community Center (including Orquidia and Limon Street) with a total estimated cost for such improvements in the amount of One Million One Hundred Eighty Thousand Fifty-Nine Dollars ($1,80,059.00) with Webb County receiving Transportation Development Credits of Two Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Twelve Dollars ($236,012.00), authorizing the Commissionrs Court to execute said resolution and order, and any other matters incident thereto.

Background:

Issue: Webb County submitted an application to the State of Texas, Texas Department of Transportation, seeking funds for pedestrian sidewalks improvements in El Cenizo, Rio Bravo, and Bruni; however, only the City of Rio Bravo was eligible to receive such an award.

Solution: The State of Texas, through the Texas Department of Transportation and its "Transportation Set-Aside Program" awarded Webb County $1,180,059 for engineering and construction costs to undertake sidewalk improvements in the City of Rio Bravo, Texas.

Result: Funding will improve safety, access, and mobility for the pedestrian residents of Rio Bravo, Texas.
