Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of six (6) Esprit Thermal Camera kits to include power- over-ethernet technology, mounting hardware, mobile router, cabling, and installation for a total not to exceed $119,983.98 from Motorola (HGAC Contract No. RA05-21) for the Webb County Sheriff's Office and in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program, §271.101, §271.102 (Cooperative Purchasing Program Participation) and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #2748-3010-001-470000 (Capital Outlay – Operation Lone Star)]

Issue: Expanding border security efforts and integration with real-time crime center requires expansion of the current infrastructure as well as modern NDAA-compliant solutions. These are necessary to continue Law Enforcement efforts for border security and RTCC purposes. This purchase is supported through the State of Texas Operation Lone Star Grant Fund.

Solution: Consideration to authorize grant funded equipment for law enforcement use. Motorola has a cooperative contract with HGAC, meeting all competitive bidding requirements of the State of Texas.

Result: If approved, proceed with placing the order. This equipment will enhance existing and continued efforts to protect our border in Webb County.
