Discussion and possible action to approve a professional service agreement between Dr. Carlos Romero and Webb County for Inmate Dental Care for an initial term of seventeen (17) months effective May 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025 and authorize a discretionary exemption pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code; §262.024 (Discretionary Exemptions)(a.)(4.) a personal or professional service and to further authorize General Counsel to negotiate the terms/conditions and associated fees of the professional service agreement and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-4070-001-432001 (General Fund-Sheriff Jail-Administration-Professional Services)] Issue: Currently the Webb County Sheriff’s Office does not have a dental contract for services at the jail. Solution: Consideration to authorize the discretionary exemption and award the professional service agreement for inmate dental services for the Webb County Jail to Dr. Carlos Romero. Result: If approved, General Counsel will proceed with the preparation of the professional service agreement and return to Commissioners Court for final approval.
