Discussion and possible action to authorize the transfer of funds in an amount not to exceed $35,409.35 from the Operational Reserve to the Sheriff’s Office Capital Outlay for the purchase of a WAVE Plus Critical Incident Notification System (panic alert system) for the Commissioners Court Building, the Billy Hall Administration Building, and the Justice Center. [Transfer from Operational Reserve Account #1001-1130-001-431007 to Sheriffs’ Office Capital Outlay Account #1001-3010-001-470000]

Issue: The Webb County Sheriff’s Office would like to purchase a Wave Plus Instant Notification System, a critical incident notification system, which transmits detailed messages directly to law enforcement officers immediately without any dispatch delay or confusion with a clear emergency message directing them to the location of the emergency. The system will cover the Commissioners Court Building, the Billy Hall Administration Building, and the Justice Center for response by the Sheriff’s Office.

Solution: Transfer of funds for the purchase of the critical incident notification system.

Result: An emergency notification system will be in place to alert local law enforcement of any critical incident without delay.
