Discussion and possible action to purchase six (6) Motorola APX NEXT radios with all necessary features and accessories for functionality on the Webb County Radio system (features include but are not limited to AES encryption, multi-key operation and smart connect) including needed subscription fees from Motorola Solutions, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $69,601.00 (Contract: 17724-HGAC (TX) RA05-21) for the Webb County Sheriff's Office in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code, Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program; Section 271.101, 102 (Cooperative Purchasing Program Participation) and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #2716-3010-001-470000 ($56,185.96) and #2716-3010-001-443000 ($13,415.04) (Sheriff Rural Law Enforcement Capital Outlay and Repairs to Maintenance and Equipment)]

Issue: Grant funding is available to be used for the purchase of needed safety equipment.

Solution: Seek authorization by the court for the purchase of eligible portable radios.

Result: The Webb County Sheriff’s Office will be able to purchase eligible safety equipment for its peace officers.
