Discussion and possible action to authorize the Economic Development Department to develop and submit a Solid Waste Management Program application to the South Texas Development Council (in cooperation with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality) in an amount not to exceed Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000) for education and training activities that will benefit rural Webb. This action will have no impact on the County's General Fund and will not create any new positions.

Issue: There is a lack of solid waste management initiatives in the rural areas of Webb.

Solution: Webb County seeks funding opportunities that will offer solid waste management activities for the benefit of rural Webb County residents.

Result: The development and submission of a Solid Waste Management Program application to address the lack of initiatives aimed at alleviating solid waste pollution in rural Webb.
