Discussion and possible action to approve the purchase of furniture for new fire station located on Henry Cuellar Rd. off of HWY 59. Furniture will be purchased from KI, BuyBoard Contract Number NJPA #31715, at a cost of $18,938.88, pursuant to Sections 271.101 and 271.102 Subchapter F of the Cooperative Purchasing Program, Texas Local Government Code. [Account #740-0200-8801 (2013 Bond Series)]

Issue: Furniture for fire station was not included in fire station construction contract. Furniture must be purchased outright by Webb County. There is a 6 week lead time for item delivery; station should be complete prior to furniture delivery.

Solution: Purchase furniture through architect suggested vendor. Revised quote was requested and obtained by the Purchasing Department with a reduction in the installation cost of $4,425.00.

Result: A turn-key fire station/administration building upon completion of the project.
