Discussion and possible action to enter into a Three (3) year service agreement between Webb County and Time Warner Cable (Charter / Spectrum) for the attached stated locations for public internet service at a speed of 50MB x 5MB. The service fee will be $119.99 per month per location, plus all applicable fees and surcharges , plus a $75.00 one time installation fee per location ; subject to annual budgetary appropriation. We are requesting the Court to grant an exemption from competitive bidding pursuant to section 262.024 Discretionary Exemptions, (7)(c) Sole Source; and to authorize the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: Webb County has had an ongoing issue with public internet connectivity. There is only one provider that can offer the internet speed required to address the issue. In addition, we are currently on a month to month pay schedule with the current provider with no contract in place.

Solution: Enter into a service agreement with Time Warner Cable to obtain higher internet speeds; and to establish pricing for the next three (3) years.

Result: Low latency, better connectivity, improved efficiency, cost savings to Webb County
