Discussion and possible action to enter into an annual agreement with Simplex Grinnell for fire alarm monitoring services beginning on October 25, 2016 for the Webb County Casa Blanca Golf Course. The annual amount for monitoring service will be $319.80 plus a one-time programming fee of $325.00, pursuant to Sections 271.101 and 271.102, Subchapter F, Cooperative Purchasing Programs, Texas Local Government Code (TXMAS-5-03FAC010). Issue: The fire alarm panel installed at the Casa Blanca Golf Course is proprietary equipment owned by Simplex Grinnell. Simplex Grinnell is the only vendor that can monitor that particular panel. Webb County currently has a contract for alarm monitoring services with the Best Alarm Company. In order to contract the awarded vendor, the County will have to allocate funds to install a conventional panel.

Solution: Enter into an agreement with Simplex Grinnell to avoid the costly expense of installing a new fire alarm panel.

Result: The Golf Course can receive fire alarm monitoring service without having to replace the existing panel.
