Discussion and possible action to award RFP 2016-007 "La Presa Community Park - Youth Baseball Field Project" to Altius Group Corporation in an amount not to exceed $130,500.00 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. [Bond Series Account #635-6115-8601]

Issue: Only one contractor submitted a sealed proposal for RFP 2016-007 "La Presa Community Park - Youth Baseball Field Project" Base bid total is $135,476.67. Total alternates equal $257,831.58.

Solution: Award RFP 2016-007 to Altius Group in an amount not to exceed the project budget of $130,500.00. County staff will negotiate with contractor on lowering the base bid and/or choosing other alternates on RFP to remain within Budget.

Result: Proceed with Master plan components for La Presa Community Park.

Background:

On September 26, 2016, Commissioner Court rescinded the action taken on April 25, 2016, Item 17 (i) to award RFP 2016-02-1 La Presa Park Soccer Field to Prestige Innovators in the amount of $142,000.00, and authorized the Purchasing Agent to solicit competitive sealed proposals for La Presa Community Park Project. Input from the Community has pushed this project in a different direction. The scope of this project will change and required new specifications to be issued.

Only one contractor submitted a sealed proposal. Staff recommends approval and requests authorization to proceed with negotiations to select the components listed within the RFP that can be covered through the designated budget for this project.
