Discussion and possible action for authorization to the Webb County Community Action Agency to enter into a contract with the City of Laredo (El Metro) administering the Enhanced Mobility of Senior and Individuals with Disabilities Program set forth under the 49 U.S. Section 5310, through fiscal year 2016, acting through the Texas Department of Transportation wherein Webb County accepts grant amount not to exceed SEVENTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($72,000.00) for El Aguila Rural Transportation, and authorizing the County Judge to execute all relevant documents. This will have no impact on the general fund.

Issue: Fleet's major and/or minor mechanical liabilities.

Solution: Seeking and applying for new grants to obtain new buses, adding to our current fleet.

Result: Applied and awarded new monies that will be used to purchase a Type III 18 to 22 passenger bus.

Background:

Contract funds will be used to obtain a Type III Bus with wheelchair lift and flip down seats, 18 to 22 passengers, ADA equipped to continue its services to the elderly and disable clients of the rural areas of Webb County.
