Discussion and possible action to initiate the process to pave and stripe the empty lot located at 1001 Houston St., formerly known as the Courthouse Annex property, and to allocate funding in an amount not to exceed $35,000; and any other matters incident thereto. Funds will be used to obtain any and all permits necessary and any additional materials if needed. [Accounts #605-3001-8801-7 and #605-0106-8801] Issue: The former Webb County Courthouse Annex building was demolished almost one year ago and the site remains unpaved and unused. Additional parking for courthouse staff and/or visitors is also needed and this tract of land can be conveniently utilized. Solution: By allocating funds to pave and stripe this tract of land, additional parking can be utilized by courthouse staff and/or courthouse visitors. Paving of this property will be conducted by Webb County Road and Bridge staff with existing materials, machinery and labor. Striping of this paved property will be conducted by the Webb County Building Maintenance Department with existing materials, machinery and labor. Result:This tract of land can be used by courthouse staff and/or courthouse visitors upon completion of the paving and striping.
