Discussion and possible action to award project to Laredo Machine Shop in the amount of $47,438.00 as part of Annual Contract Bid #2017-39 for Welding and Fabrication Services needed at the Rio Bravo Water Treatment Plant, the Warehouse storage area, the River Intake, and at the reinforced metal security fence. [Account #758-8006-8601 (Bond Series)]

Issue: We are currently upgrading our Water Plant Facility with Safety issues that have been brought up to our attention by the state Texas Commission on environmental Quality (T.C.E.Q.) and our employees.

Solution: Authorize issuance of purchase order based on the current Annual Contract Bid #2017-39.

Result: Complete all welding and fabrication services around the mentioned areas to include river Intake fabricated stairs, Splitter Box Ladder with all railing on the top, Warehouse security cages and shelves, and the completion of the metal reinforced fencing what is left to finish.

Background:

We currently have many areas of concern due to Safety issues that may harm our own personal and may cause us potential violations by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (T.C.E.Q.)
