Discussion and possible action for all ancillary insurance products offered to Webb County employees to become effective Ninety days (90) after date of hire; and any other matters incident thereto, and authorizing the County Judge to sign any relevant documents thereto.
Issue:
Presently when a new employee is hired there is a 90 day eligibility waiting period for health benefits but the employee’s ancillary products become effective on the first of the month following the expiration of thirty calendar days. This has created much confusion in premium remittance.
Solution:
Establish a uniform effective eligibility date for all insurance products offered to Webb County employees.
Result:
All insurance products will have the same starting effective date for eligibility and remittance of premiums thereby eliminating confusion and possible errors.
