Discussion and possible action to authorize the 406th Judicial District Adult Drug Court Program to submit a new grant application for the Fiscal Year 2018 "Grants to Expand Substance Abuse Treatment Capacity in Adult Treatment Drug Courts ("ATDC"), funding opportunity number TI-18-008, offered by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) which will allow for the continuation and expansion of the substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services currently being provided by the 406th Judicial District Adult Drug Court Program, and authorize the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other maters incident thereto. All required documents have been previously submitted to and approved by the Single Point of Contact (SPOC). There are no matching funds required. [Requested by Oscar Hale, 406th District Court Judge]

Issue: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has been authorized to award an estimated 38 grants for 5 years up to $400,000 / year, to fund and support Adult Treatment Drug Courts in order to address the needs of drug court participants and their families.

Solution: The 406th Judicial District Adult Drug Court Program's fiscal responsibility and obligation to submit an application to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the Adult Treatment Court Grant, Funding Opportunity No. TI-18-008.
