Discussion and possible action to approve and authorize the submission of a grant application to the Criminal Justice Division for a fingerprint card reader and to authorize the office of the Economic Development to assist in the development of said grant application. [Requested by Melissa Mojica, Juvenile Probation Department Director]

Issue: The Webb County Youth Village wishes to develop and submit a grant application for the purchase of a Touchprint Fingerprint Card Reader in the amount of Seventeen Thousand Nine Hundred Twenty-seven ($17,927.00) dollars. The current machine can no longer be covered by a maintenance agreement and cannot be updated.

Solution: Approval for the development and submission of a grant application to seek funds for the purchase of a Touchprint Fingerprint Card Reader.

Result: If funded, the fingerprint machine will be purchased.
