Subject:

Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Civil Legal Division to enter into negotiations for a Three (3) year agreement with the City of Laredo for Jail Inmate Services for the performance period of (October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2021) and authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign any relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by Martin Cuellar, Sheriff; Account #1001-4070-330010 (prisoner revenue)]

Issue: The Jail Inmate Agreement has expired

Solution: Enter into a new agreement pursuant to Chapter 791 of the Texas Local Government Code.

Result: The County will be reimbursed a reasonable fee for municipal detentions.

Background:

In the past the County has entered into agreement with the City of Laredo for municipal detainees/prisoners.
