Discussion and possible action to approve Contract Amendment No. 3 for Ausland Architects in association with Metaform Studio Architects, Inc., in the amount of $102,100.00 for additional A/E fees based on 7.5% of final construction cost of the Youth Village Rehabilitation Project Phase totaling $3,686,200.00, adjusting the original A/E fee from $174,365.00 to $276,465.00 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: Commissioners Court approved the allocation of funding for the final construction cost for the youth village rehabilitation project and also approved the funding to pay additional A/E fees required to update design, plans and specifications to include project management of this project.

Solution: Approve the amendment to finalize the Architects contract based on prior approvals by the Court on final project design and project budget for construction.

Results: Finalize professional service contract for project architect firm.

Background:

The amendment to the professional services contract is based on the seven and a half percent (7.5%) of the final construction cost of three million six hundred eighty-six thousand two hundred dollars ($ 3,686,200.00). The information was presented during the Commissioner’s Court meeting held on December 11, 2017. Ausland Architects in association with Metaform Studio presented Value Engineering options and revised costs received from Summit Building and Design for the WCYVRC project. The Court reviewed and approved Option 1 with a final construction cost of $ 3,686,200.00. Webb County issued a “Notice to Proceed to Summit Building and Design on July 23, 2018.

Previous Court Action:

On December 11, 2017, Commissioners Court approved VE Option 1 with final construction cost of $3,686,200.00.
