Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal Requests for Proposals for a building lease to house the Webb County Safe Haven Program. [Requested by Sheriff Martin Cuellar, Sheriff's Office, FY2018 Justice For Families Grant]

Issue: The Webb County Safe Haven has been very successful in providing supervised visitation and safe exchanges of children for the benefit of the after-mentioned children and their families in the Laredo/Webb County community. However, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office would like to expand theses services for the greater benefit of the local community.

Solution: Seek court authorization to utilized budgeted grant funds to lease a larger facility in order to expand services.

Result: The Webb County Safe Haven Program will be able to provide better, expanded, and enhanced services to the families of Laredo/Webb County.
