Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to secure competitive bids for the acquisition of three (3) new replacement wastewater Dri-Prime Electric lift station pumps (Godwin CD103 4" 30 Horse Power) for an amount not to exceed $54,000 and in accordance with the Texas Local Government Code; Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program Sections 271.101 & 271.102. [Requested by Adrian Montemayor, Water Utilities Director; Account #7220-7270-001-474501, Construction in Progress; 2016 Bond Series]

Issue: Existing pumps although still functioning have undergone extensive rehabilitation but have shown reduced consistency of service toward the end of their effective life. Since these pumps are critical for the proper operation of the collection system and limiting the discharge of wastewater onto the streets we would like to pull them out of service and replace with new pumps while keeping the old pumps for backup.

Solution: Acquisition of new pumps.

Result: Reduce pump failures in the collection system and limit sanitary sewer overflows.
