Discussion and possible action to accept the TxCDBG Community Enhancement Fund grant award and enter into an agreement - Contract No. 7218028 with the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), in the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) in grant funds and Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Dollars ($250,000) in combined cash match and in-kind match for the construction of a public health facility in Bruni, Webb County, Texas; and authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign all pertinent contract documentation. The contract implementation schedule is projected to run from March 2019 until March 2021. (**New Special Fund Account designation is pending from the Auditor’s Office)

Issue: Rural Webb County residents must travel a significant distance to Laredo, Texas to acquire healthcare services due to the absence of a public health care facility in the rural areas of Webb County.

Solution: County of Webb shall construct a three-thousand two hundred (3,200) square feet health care facility in Bruni, Webb County, Texas, which will provide an array of healthcare services to rural residents.

Result: Rural beneficiaries of Webb County will have first time access to healthcare services at a facility located in rural Webb County aiding in the overall well-being of individuals and families alike.
