Issue:
The residents of Bruni, Texas and surrounding areas do not have a Public Health Facility. Residents must travel a significant distance to Laredo to acquire healthcare services. Webb County Commissioners Court authorized the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal RFQ for this project being funded through the Texas Community Development Block Grant (TxCDBG) Community Enhancement Fund Grant.
Solution:
Accept the rankings as submitted by the Purchasing Agent and approve the award to the highest ranking firm Redline Architecture, LLC.
Result
: Proceed with negotiations to finalize an architectural agreement between Webb County and Redline Architecture and return to Commissioners Court for final approval of all terms and conditions and associated fees for scope of work.
Background:
This project will provide residents accessibility to the first time public health facility with a proposed area of 3,200 SF to be located in the rural community of Bruni, TX. The facility shall include a parking lot, fencing and sidewalks. The facility shall be operated/facilitated by the Webb County Indigent Healthcare Department and Texas A&M – College Station Colonias Program.
Previous Court Action:
On 9/23/2019, Commissioners Court authorized the formal solicitation of RFQ for architectural services for the design of a Public Health Facility to be located in Bruni, Texas which would also serve the surrounding communities.
