Discussion and possible action to approve submitting the application for participation in the LTSS Managed Care Organization – Aetna Better Health of Texas provider network. The Meals on Wheels program will continue contract rate of $6.12 per unit and provide 16,130 home delivered meals. No impact to the General Fund. [Account #2371-5260-521-470000]

Issue: The LTSS MCO - Aetna Better Health of Texas provider application must be updated for continued participation in the provider network.

Solution: The approval of the Commissioner's Court will authorize the LTSS MCO network provider (Aetna Better Health of Texas) to enter into a service agreement to provide home-delivered meals.

Result: The Meals on Wheels program will continue to provide home-delivered meals through a partnership with LTSS Managed Care Organization - Aetna Better Health of Texas.

Background:

STAR+PLUS integrates acute care and community-based long-term care services to achieve a seamless continuum of care for members. Managed care organizations (MCOs) are responsible for coordinating these services through a service coordinator – Aetna Better Health of Texas.
