Discussion and possible action to authorize an exception to the 25-hour limit for part-time medical employee hired under slot #888813 Part-Time Nurse at Indigent Health Care Services Department and any other matters incident thereto. Salary for this position is paid from federal funds received under the 1115 Waiver-RHP20 Anchor Fund and will have no impact on the General Fund. [Account #2002-5100-001-412000 [Part-Time]]

Issue: With the continued increase of health services offered to the public such as TB testing, Immunizations, and the COVID-19 vaccine once it becomes available; additional medical nursing staff assistance is needed to have adequate coverage for: appointments scheduled at the main office, clinic events held at community centers or other locations in rural areas of our community, vaccine inventory, and completion of state required reporting.

Solution: Commissioners Court approval will allow our part-time nurse to work additional hours to ensure that services are available to the community without interruption.

Result: The public health services division will be able to increase their services that protect residents against vaccine preventable diseases.
