Discussion and possible action to authorize the transfer of a 2015 Chevy Tahoe (VIN: 1GNLC2EC3FR610859) Unit No. 0982 from the District Attorney’s Office to the Webb County Community Supervision and Corrections Department in accordance with the Webb County Purchasing Policy, Section 4.1 Inventory Policy and Procedures (e.) transfer, and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: The Webb County Community Supervision and Corrections Department is in need of a reliable vehicle for its Absconders unit. The vehicle will be used to apprehend offenders with outstanding arrest warrants and to locate offenders that do not report to their supervision officers as scheduled.

Solution: Approve the transfer of the 2015 Chevy Tahoe.

Result: The Webb County Community Supervision and Corrections Department will get additional law enforcement resources to continue its efforts in apprehending offenders with outstanding arrest warrants and to locate offenders that do not report to the supervision officers as scheduled.

Background:

The Webb County Community Supervision and Corrections Department is in need of additional law enforcement resources to continue its efforts in apprehending absconders. The Webb County District Attorney's Office is in a position to assist by transferring a 2015 Chevy Tahoe currently not being utilized. The Chevy Tahoe was purchased with DA Forfeiture Funds.
