Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of the Texas Department of Transportation (TX-DOT) FY 2021 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program, and authorizing the County Judge to act as the County's Executive Officer and Authorized Representative in all matters pertaining to the County's participation in the application. This grant application requires a 20% minimum local match. All required documents were sent for review to the Economic Development and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures.

Issue: Identified sidewalks located in different Colonia areas in Webb County are in need of repair and improvements.

Solution: The Texas Department of Transportation released applications for the 2021 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program for bicyclist and pedestrian infrastructure.

Result: If awarded, funding will improve safety, access, and mobility for the residents of Webb County of all ages and abilities.
